  1. Mike Slive says:

Key takeaways from the 2014 SEC Football Schedule:
    1. LSU vs Texas A&M and Arkansas vs Mizzou are new end of the year rivalry games – LSU and Arkansas used to play on Thanksgiving weekend.
    2. There are two new permanent cross divisional rival matchups as well – South Carolina vs Texas A&M and Arkansas vs Missouri (since 1991 Arkansas and South Carolina were permanent cross divisional rivals).
    3. Open Date balance – Georgia and Texas A&M play 3 SEC schools coming off of a bye week (most in the SEC). The league has made significant progress in balancing bye week scheduling to make sure no school has an overwhelming disadvantage (Bama in 2010 played 6 SEC schools coming off a bye week). Below are how many games each school has against an opponent coming off a bye week (in parentheses) and the schools they play when coming off of their own bye weeks:
    Alabama(2) – Ole Miss, LSU
    Arkansas(1) – Alabama, LSU
    Auburn(0) – KState, South Carolina
    Florida(2) – Tennessee, Georgia
    Georgia(3) – South Carolina, Florida
    Kentucky(2) – Vandy, Louisville
    LSU(2) – Alabama, Texas A&M
    MSU(1) – Texas A&M, Kentucky
    Mizzou(1) – Georgia, Texas A&M
    Ole Miss(1) – Memphis, Arkansas
    South Carolina(2) – Furman, Florida
    Tennessee(1) – Georgia, Kentucky
    Texas A&M(3) – TBA
    Vandy(1) – Mizzou, MSU

    I love this format!!
I print a copy for myself and one for my son each year to follow each team, all year!
    Thank you for providing it.
I AM A 31 YEAR US ARMY RETIREE WHO will be 80 in September and HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AN AVID LSU FAN.

  3. Johnny says:

I think we should implement a 6-bye week rule. Give it Auburn and see how many games THEY lose. Those 6 teams with a bye cost Bama a national title in 2010 and a 4-peat. Thanks Mike. And now you give Auburn 0 schools with a bye week? You must be an Auburn fan. Could your bias be any more obvious?

  4. Sherry Hue says:

I was looking at the schedule for all the SEC teams and would like to no why LSU has to play 9 games, Texas A&M 8 games, and Vanderbilt 7 games before they have one open slot. All the other SEC team has there open slot spread out through the season. Those was the only three teams that has to play straight through to November before getting an open. Please answer that for me.

  5. Cajun john says:

Georgia, Missouri has a great schedule and so does Vanderbilt. GO LSU. Hopefully Les Miles starts Brandon Harris and fourette so we can be contenders.
